What to Expect in Your First Reiki Session
If you’ve never experienced Reiki before, it’s completely natural to feel curious or unsure about what will happen. Your first session is designed to be a calm, supportive experience where you can relax and simply allow your body and mind to settle.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that supports relaxation and overall wellbeing.
Arriving for Your Session
When you arrive, we will spend a few minutes talking through how you are feeling and anything you would like support with. This might be stress, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, grief, sleep difficulties, or simply the need for deep rest.
There is no pressure to share anything you are not comfortable discussing.
This short conversation simply helps me understand how best to support you during your session.
During the Reiki Treatment
You will lie comfortably on a treatment couch, fully clothed, with blankets and cushions to help you relax.
During the session I place my hands gently on or just above different areas of the body. Reiki energy flows where it is needed to support balance and relaxation.
You may experience:
• deep relaxation
• warmth or gentle sensations
• a quiet, calm mind
• emotional release
• a feeling of peace or lightness
Some people simply fall asleep, which is also perfectly normal.
Every experience is unique, and there is no right or wrong way to feel during Reiki.
After Your Session
After the treatment we allow a few moments for grounding before you leave.
Some people feel very relaxed and peaceful. Others notice emotional shifts or feel lighter over the following days. This is part of the body gently processing and rebalancing.
Drinking water, resting, and being gentle with yourself after a session can help support this process.

My work is grounded in many years of experience supporting people through trauma, grief, stress, and emotional challenges. Sessions are always gentle, respectful, and guided by your comfort.
